100 years ago today…

…my wonderful mother was born!  She passed away Nov. 1, 2010, and it’s hard to describe how much I miss her, and how vital and enduring a force she was in my life.  Suffice it to say I loved her VERY much, and will cherish her memory always.

A year and a half ago I created this book in her honor – via a class given locally by good friend D.J.Pettitt.

Mom was about 19 or so when this photo was taken- I altered it a bit in PS, then printed it onto silk before adding it to what I now call my “Mom” book.

To see other photos of this fabric book, go to THIS LINK.  Click the orange icons when you get to the album- most of the images are large.

Yesterday, our younger granddaughter and I took flowers to the grave of my parents.  It was a blessing to share the time with our granddaughter.   She was so sweet and attentive.

What a lovely way to honor your mother’s memory. I love the vintage lace & doilies – they go so well with the photo. Thinking of you and hope you are well!

What a nice thing to share with a granddaughter, Corinne. It will be special to her and a lesson on life. A good example to her. I like the idea of your “Mom” book. Nice page.
I’m following you now. Hope you’ll follow on mine as well.

    Blessings,
